The Animal Pad has saved our fair share of Special Needs dogs. When we pull dogs from the shelter, often they are mis-diagnosed and require a massive amount of vet care and special attention. Through working with these dogs, we are aware of what they require in order to make them ready for their forever home. Here are a few of our past and current cases:
Valentino: Was burned with acid, attacked with what appeared to be a weed whacker and was in terrible pain. He has been through more than any dog should have to endure and now is in need of a special, forever home. Here he is in the shelter:

This is Emma, who had puncture wounds in her head, emaciated and had clearly just had puppies because her teats were engorged beyond belief. On top of this, she was very timid. She has been adopted by a great family. Here she was when we first rescued her:

Rosie, who is still looking for her forever family, didn’t appear to have physical scars, but her mental ones remain strong. She was clearly abused as she is terrified of people, but is really coming around! She absolutely LOVES other dogs and finds comfort in them.
